The 532 series adds a spherical housing washer and aligning seat to the 512 cross-section — enabling the bearing to compensate for static angular misalignment between the shaft and housing. Ideal for applications where perfect perpendicularity between the shaft axis and housing support face cannot be guaranteed during manufacture or installation.
Self-Aligning Thrust Bearings for Imperfect Mounting Conditions
Luoyang Songju 532 series thrust ball bearings feature the same light cross-section as the 512 series, with the addition of a spherical housing washer and matching aligning seat. This self-aligning capability compensates for static angular misalignment of up to 2–3° between the shaft axis and the housing mounting face — preventing edge loading on the ball-cage assembly that would otherwise cause premature bearing failure.
The spherical aligning seat is a separate component, installed between the housing washer and the housing bore. The concave spherical surface of the seat mates with the convex spherical back face of the housing washer, creating a ball-and-socket joint that freely pivots to accommodate angular deviation. This eliminates the need for precision-machined perpendicular housing faces — reducing manufacturing cost in welded fabrications, cast housings, and field-installed equipment.
Available in bore sizes from 10mm to 360mm. The light cross-section provides good axial load capacity while the self-aligning feature protects against the most common cause of thrust bearing failure — misalignment-induced edge loading. For heavier load requirements with self-alignment, specify the 533 series.
