Cross Roller Linear Guideway
The Cross Roller Linear Guideway represents Luoyang Songju's highest-precision linear motion technology. Unlike recirculating ball or roller guideways, the cross roller design employs cylindrical rollers arranged in an alternating orthogonal (crossed) configuration within a single raceway assembly. Each roller is oriented at 90 degrees to its neighbors, providing simultaneous load support in all directions — radial, lateral, and moment — with exceptional rigidity that surpasses conventional guideway architectures. This crossed arrangement eliminates the compliance inherent in recirculating element designs, making it the definitive choice for ultra-precision applications.
Manufactured from through-hardened bearing steel (60–64 HRC) with precision-ground raceways, cross roller guideways are available in precision grades P and SP with an optional zero-clearance preload for absolute positioning stability. Brass cages (standard) or engineered resin cages (low-noise option) maintain precise roller spacing while minimizing friction. The limited stroke design (up to 500mm) is inherent to the non-recirculating architecture but is more than adequate for precision stages, semiconductor wafer inspection platforms, optical measurement systems, and micro-machining spindles where travel is short but positioning accuracy demands are extreme.
